Following Baby Mike’s surprise arrival at The GLO, he has just gone from strength to strength and has become a very content little baby.
We have kept in close contact with the Children’s Department and Kilifi Hospital to see how Mama Emily is progressing. Imagine our surprise when we received a phone call from the hospital as the Mama was asking about her baby.

Baby Mike leaves The GLO

After supervised visits over the past few weeks, the DCO and psychiatric team at Kilifi Hospital thought that reuniting the mother and baby was the best way forward, so after saying goodbye to the children at The GLO, Mama Tuta along with Mercy brought Mike back to Kilifi Hospital.

Mama Emily was so happy to be reunited with her baby , she could not remember what had happened previously only that she had a very painful birth and lost a large amount of blood following the birth. As you can see from the photos she is still weak but she kept asking Mama Tuta all about her baby son, both Mercy & Tuta were very happy with her general wellbeing and amazed at how interested she was in baby Mike.

She will continue to stay in a private ward within Kilifi Hospital where they assess her daily and keep a close eye on her care for the baby. It is going to be a slow process but we know now that baby Mike is better with his Mama, although he was so well cared for at The GLO it is also heartwarming to see him reunited with his Mama.

Thanks to the generosity of DAFA we were able to assist both the mother and baby, we gave Mama Emily baby milk, nappies and clothes for little Mike and hope & pray that their life together now is happy and healthy. It is indeed a miracle to see them reunited and again we have to thank Kilifi Hospital and The Children’s Department for their care & understanding in such a complex case.
