After a busy eight weeks in Kenya, I was amazed to arrive at The Bowden Rooms and see the fantastic room, all the great raffle prizes and auction prizes, Anne-Maire & Catherine had been very busy organising another wonderful event for the GLO.
As promised it was evening of great entertainment, food & craic. Outside Eddie Kiely & Pater Walsh had the turf burning and the stage was set for everyone to celebrate being Irish in Manchester. The Irish Stew & Apple Pie was lovely, the music provided by Sally Glennon & her band, a special appearance by Donal & Sean Scally accompanied by Eddie Kiely and then Andy Murphy on the decks made a great atmosphere.
Bernie O’Brien & Martin White helped with the brochures and Bernie also has lots of photos of the night on her website, www.bernieobrien.co.uk. Mike Flynn Junior sponsored the D.J and Fair play to Vinny Connaughton who was our MC & Auctioneer for the night.
The raffle and auction was brilliant with Bridget Maher & Mary Grady helping to get great prizes, again everything perfect. Roisin O’Gara worked along with the children from Thorley Day Nursery putting together a Rainbow of Hope for the children at the GLO, each child needing a sponsor had a photo on the rainbow with a brief history of the child, it was a great success !!!
Without this support and hard work it would be impossible for us in Kenya, it is the strong committee we have behind us that makes it achievable and we cannot thank you all enough. Everyone who attended the night, donated a prize, bid on an auction prize or bought a raffle ticket, it all makes a massive difference, Asanta Sana from the Good Life Orphanage xxx
