If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’re no stranger to the ever-smiling baby Lawrence.
In July 2010, Lawrence was brought to the GLO.  He was only three months old, born to a young girl in Shanzu and has a very severe form spina bifida, where the sac was outside the base of the spine. He could not sit up or lie comfortably, and we were told there was nothing that could be done for him.
He needed scans to determine the extent of his illness and then treatment, but his mother could not take him to hospital as she could not afford the medical care. The Carr-Deed Family from Manchester agreed to assist & pay for the medical fees, and Lawrence had a successful operation.
Since his operation, Lawrence has received physiotherapy twice a week from a young occupational therapist named Charles, and for the 12th and final blog of Christmas we wanted to share this video with you to show how far he has progressed.
None of this would be possible without your incredible generosity.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and thank you for your continued support.
To see Lawrence in your last blog of the year has truly made me happy. I have watched his incredible journey and he has been an inspiration. For all his health issues he is one of the happiest children imaginable. A real blessing to everyone who meets him. The mamas, staff, Charles the generous donors for his medical bills have made this improvement possible, his brothers and sisters at GLO are amazing with him. Lawrence spreads love and with his determination he will achieve a great deal in his life. God bless you all.

Have a Happy new year all 2013.
Annie and I met Charles in July and he told us about the work he was planning with Lawrence. It is fantastic to see the progress that has been made in such a short time. Lawrence is such a happy, positive and strong child. The help he is receiving will enable him to achieve many goals towards independence. It is still raining here in England but it has been a good Christmas. Happy Christmas everyone and best wishes for 2013. Hope to see you all before too long. Jana and Annie x
