Report by Games teachers:
Mr. Paul Mboya Matheka and Md. Elizabeth Kanini.
As we are actively promoting a more holistic approach to teaching methods in our school, sports is a very important part of our day at St Bernadette Mary School. We are lucky to have recently competed in the Balls Games Tournament &
the second round of the games took place on 27th May 2013 at Mtomondoni Primary School. Six school converged at this venue to compete and nurture the talents of the young Kenyans.
Pupils from St. Bernadette Mary’s were not left behind during this event. St. Bernadette Mary’s School had 15 pupils in various teams altogether. These were distributed as follows.
• Football boys – 3 boys
• Netball girls – 4 girls
• Football girls – 6 girls
• Volley ball boys – 2 boys
Our pupils played tirelessly in their respective areas and by the end of the day 4 girls and 1 boy qualified to join the team that was to meet at the same venue on 28th May for the next level of the games competition. Our participation was received positively by the schools around and even encouraged the school management not to let our pupils miss this wonderful exposure in the years to come. Mr. Paul Mboya and Md. Elizabeth Kanini wish to thank the headteacher of St. Bernadette Mary School for the moral support, logistical support and the financial support given to us as the games teachers. We felt fully supported and are looking forward to do even better in the nest year sports activities.
Thank you.
