Yes we are far off the beaten track so we were very surprised today when two vehicles pulled up at The GLO and out jumped members of the Ireland Cricket Team along with our good friends Philip & Mika from Camara.
After a tour around the orphanage, shamba & school we invited them to sign our visitors book and had a good chat, lots of questions from both sides for sure. As they are in Mombasa for the World Qualifiers they kindly asked us to watch the game but unfortunately we are at the airport picking up visitors.
Many thanks to them for taking time out of a busy schedule to visit our project and we wish John Mooney, Alex Cusack, Trent Johnstone & all the team good luck in the qualifiers, Come on Ireland !!!
It was a pleasure seeing what you do at the orphanage. Very humbled and would encourage you to keep it up.
Good on the lads from the Irish Cricket Team for rocking up at the GLO. I bet kids, Mama’s and Aunty’s were all equally thrilled.
Mary and Kevin – please can you please arrange for them to be there when we next turn up to Volunteer !!!
Much love – Bridget xx
